Benefits of Starting a Carnivore Diet

After listening to countless, overwhelmingly positive and unbelievable testimonials I have just started my carnivore diet journey. It’s only been a few days and I already notice small changes. I sleep better and wake up easier. My back hasn’t hurt at all in two days. I have more energy, motivation and improved mood. My goals are to clear up some health issues like back pain, stomach aches and anxiety. I would love to lose about 10 pounds (maybe more). I’m mostly interested in feeling stronger and having more energy to work out and keep up with my teenagers.

I like that there is no measuring or weighing, no counting calories or carbohydrates. With the carnivore diet you eliminate all the processed foods and sugars. I’ve wanted to do an elimination diet to rule out foods that bother me so this is a great way to do that without going hungry and feeling totally nourished at the same time. I have never been a super strict eater so this should be interesting. I will post my progress along the way.

Here are only some of the reported benefits of following a carnivore diet.
    • Weight loss. The carnivore diet is very high in protein and fat, which can help you feel full and satisfied, leading to weight loss.
    • Improved gut health. The carnivore diet may help improve gut health by reducing inflammation and increasing the diversity of gut bacteria.
    • Reduced inflammation. The carnivore diet is very low in carbohydrates, which can help reduce inflammation in the body.
    • Improved mood. Some people report that the carnivore diet improves their mood and energy levels.
    • Mental health. People report they don’t feel anxiety or depression anymore.
    • Clearer skin. The carnivore diet may help improve skin clarity by reducing inflammation and improving gut health.

    • Reduced medications including diabetesso awesome!

Variations of the Carnivore Diet

I also like that you can be super strict with just beef and water or do more keto style depending on what your goals and preferences are. If you are curious here are some variations to consider.

    • Strict Carnivore. Also called Zero Carb or Lion Diet. This is the meat (mostly beef) and water only plan.
    • Standard Carnivore. Includes meat of all kinds, seafood, dairy, eggs, spices and black coffee is acceptable.
    • Ketovore. Standard Carnivore with some plants as condiments. For example tomato, avocado or jalapeños on a burger, or BBQ sauce with ribs.

I highly encourage anyone who is curious to give it a try, even if just for a 30 day challenge and see what happens! You might not be ready to be 100% carnivore but that doesn’t mean you won’t benefit. It might be just the thing you need to push you towards your health goals.

VERY IMPORTANT…When starting a high protein diet you will need to increase your salts and electrolytes. I use this trace minerals product. I also like Dr. Bergs products but you can use any electrolyte just check there is no sugar or other weird ingredients.
